BIO
Raised on roots-rock and soul, singer-songwriter David Segall began his career in Santa Barbara at the age of 17. He has since performed throughout the U.S., Europe, and Costa Rica.
David collaborated with producer and multi-instrumentalist Jesse Siebenberg (Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Supertramp) on his latest recordings and has shared the stage with Michael MacDonald and Zach Gill (Jack Johnson, ALO).
David and his band play regularly at festivals and private events throughout California, including Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Summer Solstice, Harbor Fest, and Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival.
Inspired by the upbeat vibes of Jason Mraz, Bob Marley, and Paul Simon, David's soul-stirring songs and world beat grooves get his audiences up on their feet and dancing.
Deeply inspired by nature and the ocean, David’s music emerges from his life experiences as a Yogi, surfer, and sailor. His songs carry a universal message of love, self-empowerment and “being the change” we wish to see in the world.
David is frequently sought after to perform at charity events, such as Santa Barbara Channel Keeper, Youth Interactive, Rally 4 Kids, and the Surf Happens Foundation, to name a few. He is currently in the studio working on his third E.P. and gearing up for a West Coast tour.
Growing up in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, David first started performing on stage at the iconic Roy’s when he was seventeen. He studied Voice and Performing Arts while at UCSB, where he graduated from the B.F.A. Acting program. After college, his music led him to Los Angeles to record his first album. Three years later, he ventured on to Chicago, where he fronted the group Modern Conversation, released three EP’s, and toured across the Midwest and East Coast. After four years away from the ocean, David returned to Santa Barbara in 2012, started living on a sailboat, and began writing the songs for his latest studio release, Godspeed.
